BetterManager is thrilled to announce that its Coaching Fundamentals self-guided group training program was recently recognized by NovoEd among its winners of the inaugural Novie Awards, honoring brilliance in cohort learning.

The nine Novie winners exemplify the impact of cohort-based learning in delivering transformational results for learners and organizations across a wide range of industries including consumer packaged goods, data management, financial services, and more.

The award, which cited BetterManager’s innovative use of coaches in its recently-launched Coaching Fundamentals program, was announced during NovoEd’s recent L&D Campfire event, a virtual celebration bringing together more than 250 learning & development leaders.

Coaching Fundamentals is an online, self-guided study program for busy managers looking to strengthen and grow their coaching skills. The program, which is delivered using the NovoEd LMS platform, is designed to improve interpersonal communication, deepen manager-team member relationships, and improve overall employee satisfaction as measured by employee engagement surveys.

The program is unlike other online learning platforms. It features both asynchronous and synchronous online learning activities and is guided by a coach moderator who leans in to answer questions and share insights with participants along the way. The program, which spans five weeks, also includes opportunities for participants to engage with others in their cohort.

Importantly, Coaching Fundamentals culminates with a Group Coaching Session, which provides the opportunity for managers to deepen their learning and understanding of the content, as well as to practice new coaching skills and techniques.  Participants complete the course at their own pace within a 5-week timeframe

The 2023 L&D Campfire by NovoEd’s Novie Award winners are:

  1. Best Visual Design – The Center for Leadership Studies
  2. Best Reflection Activities – NextUp
  3. Best Use of Coaches – BetterManager
  4. Best Learner Accountability – PrimeLending
  5. Best Use of Teams – Forum for Theological Exploration
  6. Best Facilitator Training – ExperiencePoint
  7. Best Use of Course Communications – NetApp
  8. Best Sales Enablement Use Case – Stanley Black and Decker
  9. Best Use of Self-Paced Modality – Nestlé

“We are proud to honor these influential companies that are defining the future of corporate training through collaborative cohort-based learning experiences,” said NovoEd Chief Marketing Officer Christina Yu. “Each represents the power and potential that cohort learning presents for the future of the enterprise.”
